Myth Busters about Indian Food Ingredients

 Often believed that Indian ghee (also called the clarified butter) is harmful for health especially people suffering from cholesterol problems.

FACT Ghee or Clarified butter is an essential ingredient and must be consumed regularly in right amounts for the proper functioning of the brain. Furthermore, it contains MUFA (monounsaturated fatty acids) which is a dietary fat and helps in reduction of cholesterol.

  Rice is highly unhealthy.

FACT Rice is easy to digest and contains essential amino acids, especially Branch Chain Amino Acids (BCAA) that help in burning fat. Also, has a calming effect on a stressed person and makes one content.

 Curd contains lots of fat and hence shouldn’t be eaten.

FACT While curd contains fats, it also has an good bacteria that is essential for digestion and maintenance of one’s immune system.
